Vast is a consulting company. We develop software and machine-learning models for time series with our clients.

Who we are Vast is run by its founders, all senior developers. Frédéric Montet works on data science and time-series forecasting. Michal Bryxí is a software engineer with a frontend focus and a long-time Ember and JavaScript contributor. Yannick Lagger builds mobile and web applications, including apps published on the App Store and Google Play.

Data science for energy Frédéric holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Fribourg (UNIFR). His research covered estimating the energy performance of buildings, detecting anomalies in district heating networks and benchmarking forecasting models. We publish our research and develop onTime, an open-source library for benchmarking time-series forecasting models.

Environment and sovereignty We want our work to be good for people and nature, and we are glad to work on projects in energy, buildings and the environment. We also care about who controls software and data: we favour open-source tools and hosting in Switzerland or Europe. Read how we work.
